Grief as Kisii-Born Woman Dies Suddenly in the United States

Jesca Nyasuguta Nyakundi, a Kenyan living in Arizona, has died suddenly, leaving her family and community in mourning.

The Kenyan diaspora in the United States has expressed deep sorrow following her death. Jesca was widely regarded as a warm and resilient individual who maintained close ties with both her community abroad and her family in Kenya.

Her passing was communicated to relatives by a close family member, after which tributes began to emerge from those who knew her. Dr Lyna Nyamwaya, a Kenyan academic based in the United States, described Jesca as a person who combined hospitality with strong problem-solving skills. She noted that Jesca had a consistent ability to make others feel supported and welcome.

Jesca is survived by her husband, Johnson Nyagaka, and their three children, Keith, Ruth, and Seth. Her extended family in Kisii County, including relatives in Ikuruma, are also grieving her loss. She was the daughter of the late Abel and Joyce Nyakundi.

Friends and relatives have described her as dependable and considerate, often offering guidance and support during challenging times. As funeral arrangements continue, members of the community have called for unity to ensure she is given a dignified farewell.
