“Nawapenda Wote, Stay Safe!” Ruto Sends Christmas Message to Kenyans

President William Ruto, Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir, and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have issued festive messages emphasising safety and compassion as Kenyans celebrate Christmas and prepare for the New Year.

In his Christmas address, President Ruto reflected on the resilience of Kenyans through a challenging 2025, wishing the nation a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2026. He highlighted the importance of both gratitude and caution, urging motorists to be responsible and avoid reckless behaviour during the holiday season.

His message was in line with ongoing road safety campaigns, with authorities focusing on reducing accidents as millions travel across the country. Ruto reminded citizens to prioritise safety, stating, “Let’s drive carefully, avoid unnecessary losses.”

Cabinet Secretary Chirchir echoed the President’s sentiments, emphasising that road safety is a shared responsibility.

In his address, he called on drivers, passengers, and vehicle operators to ensure that vehicles are roadworthy and that traffic rules are followed. Chirchir also noted the role of enforcement centres and urged citizens to report any hazards to the police or the National Transport and Safety Authority.

Former Deputy President Gachagua focused on the social aspects of the festive season, urging Kenyans to support their neighbours, especially those struggling with the economic challenges of 2025. Together with his wife, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, he encouraged families to share food and care for the vulnerable, emphasising unity and compassion.

Gachagua’s message also highlighted the mixed fortunes of the past year, calling for greater generosity and responsibility.
