Kenyan Embassy Advises Citizens in Saudi Arabia to Comply With Travel Regulations Ahead of Holidays

The Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh has advised citizens in Saudi Arabia to comply fully with immigration and labour regulations before travelling during the festive season.

In a statement issued ahead of the holiday period, the embassy warned that travellers who fail to regularise their residency or employment status may face delays or restrictions at departure points, as airports prepare for increased passenger traffic. The advisory placed particular emphasis on Kenyans listed under Huroob status, which applies to foreign workers reported as having absconded from their employers.

The embassy urged those affected to resolve their cases through official legal procedures before attempting to leave Saudi Arabia, cautioning that unresolved cases could lead to detention or denial of exit clearance. Kenyans working under valid contracts were also reminded to follow all required exit procedures under Saudi labour law.

These include securing authorisation from employers and relevant authorities before departure. The embassy noted that compliance helps prevent disputes and reduces the risk of complications that could affect future employment.

For those with irregular status, the festive season can increase concerns about travel plans and legal exposure. The embassy said it remains available to provide assistance and guidance through official channels.
