President Trump Deletes AI Image Portraying Him as Jesus After Backlash

Former US President Donald Trump deleted a post from his social media platform, Truth Social, after it depicted him in a Jesus-like manner.

The AI-generated image showed Trump placing a glowing hand on a patient’s forehead in a hospital setting. In the image, Trump wore a white robe, and the scene included patriotic symbols such as the Statue of Liberty, an American flag, fighter jets, and an eagle. Additional figures, including a nurse, a praying woman, and a uniformed soldier, were also present.

Several of Trump’s supporters criticised the post. Christian activist Sean Feucht called for its removal, stating, “This should be deleted immediately. There’s no context where this is acceptable.” Conservative activist Riley Gaines added, “God shall not be mocked.” David Brody of the Christian Broadcasting Network described the image as “crossing the line.”

The post followed a separate message in which Trump criticised Pope Leo XIV, the first American pontiff, accusing him of being “weak on crime” and “terrible for foreign policy.” The Pope, who has publicly opposed US and Israeli military operations in Iran, responded that he remains independent and will continue to uphold the teachings of the Gospel.

When asked about the image, Trump declined to apologise and described the Pope’s criticism as misguided. “Pope Leo said things that are wrong,” he said. “He was very much against what I’m doing with regard to Iran, and you cannot have a nuclear Iran. Pope Leo would not be happy with the end result.”

This is not the first controversial post on Trump’s Truth Social account. Earlier this year, a racially insensitive clip featuring former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama was posted and later removed following criticism from Republican senators. A White House official said the clip was “erroneously” uploaded by a staffer and initially defended it as an “internet meme video.”
