American Detainee in Kenya Requests Improved Prison Meals, Not Ugali and Cabbage
An American national currently held in custody in Kenya has reportedly raised concerns over the quality and portions of food provided to him while being detained. The detainee, Hodgkinson Enock Jedidah, has requested that the authorities provide more substantial and varied meals, claiming that the food, consisting of maily ugali and cabbage, is insufficient and lacks nutritional value.
According to sources familiar with the situation, the American was detained being in Kenya illegally after overstaying his visa and is being held at Industrial Area Prison.
Hon Mutua ordered Hodgkinso be held wothout bail, noting that the lack of valid travel and identification documents made the detainee unsuitable for release on bond.
