Centum Hands Over High-end Apartments in Nairobi’s Rosslyn
Centum Real Estate has handed over the first 175 homes at its Cascadia apartment project in Nairobi’s Rosslyn district, marking the opening phase of the 400-unit development due for completion by December 2026.
Nearly 200 homeowners received keys to their apartments during the handover ceremony last weekend, reflecting continued demand for premium housing in Nairobi’s northern suburbs. Cascadia, developed by Centum Re, a subsidiary of Centum Investment Company PLC, includes one, two and three-bedroom apartments, as well as duplexes with detached servant quarters.
A three-bedroom apartment is priced at Sh21.95 million and measures 1,163 square feet. Kenneth Mbae, Managing Director of Centum Real Estate, said the project offers strong investment potential. He noted that average rental rates of about Sh100,000 per month could generate up to Sh40 million in monthly rental income once all units are occupied.
Cascadia is located within the 102-acre Two Rivers Development on Limuru Road, close to the United Nations Complex and Nairobi’s diplomatic district. The development sits on two acres of landscaped parkland and provides access to shopping, leisure facilities and international institutions, making it attractive to both local and expatriate buyers.
Mortgage financing has supported purchases at the development. KCB has introduced an 8.9 per cent fixed-rate mortgage for Cascadia buyers, while other banks have also offered similar financing packages. According to Mbae, these arrangements have enabled many buyers to purchase homes through mortgages instead of relying on personal savings or instalment plans.
Centum Re currently has more than 1,000 housing units under construction in Nairobi, Kilifi and Entebbe. The Cascadia project alone is valued at more than Sh5.2 billion. The buyer profile includes 60 per cent resident Kenyans, 25 percent diaspora buyers and 15 percent foreign nationals.
