The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has discovered that two Nigerian individuals who are believed to have murdered and dismembered a 20-year-old woman in an apartment on TRM Drive in Kasarani, are residing in Kenya illegally.

The individuals, William Ovie Opia and Johnbull Asbor have been arrested without proper travel papers. Opia's passport has expired while Asbor states that his passport has been lost for two years. On Monday, the detectives from the Criminal Research and Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) of the DCI discovered the suspects in an apartment in Ndenderu, Kiambu County, and successfully apprehended them. Constable Benjamin Wangila of the Kasarani DCI offices has informed the Makadara court that the suspects were living near the location where the victim's head was discovered.

Upon searching the suspects' home, authorities discovered a variety of items including a hatchet, butcher's knife, a Kenyan national identity card (withheld name), six mobile phones, three laptops, and 10 SIM cards from different telecom providers. Mwangi, who is affiliated with the Makadara Law Courts, will be held in custody until January 31st. According to an affidavit, Opia acquired a hatchet from an online vendor, stating it was for personal protection. Constable Benjamin Wangila of Kasarani DCI offices is currently examining the murder case that was reported at Kasarani Police Station. The case involves the tragic killing of Ms Waeni at a short-term rental apartment owned by Priscila Maina.

Maina, who is currently in custody, received information from the apartment caretaker about blood traces leading to a garbage collection point on the ground floor, where body parts were discovered in trash bags. However, the head was still missing. Maina's failure to register crucial tenant information as required by law led to her arrest, which would have aided the DCI in tracing the killer. Despite the DCI's claim that Waeni's head was found at a dam in Kiambu on Sunday, January 21st, her family was unable to identify it at the City Mortuary on Monday.
