New Twist as Brian Mwenda Claims He Works for US Global Law Firms
Brian Mwenda has revealed that he is employed as a legal consultant by five international law firms.
During an interview on Radio Jambo on Tuesday, Mwenda notes that these firms operate in diverse locations globally including Europe, the United States, Tanzania, Ghana and Nigeria. However, Mwenda did not disclose the specific names of these law firms. As a legal consultant, his responsibilities involve representing clients in court and engaging in various legal activities.
"I am a legal consultant. I have three African law firms that I am consulting for. There is another one in Europe and another in the US. I have just been helping people to the best of my abilities in accordance with the Constitution. As a legal consultant, you go to court, consult and confer legal accruity but there is a limit to it," he said.
Mwenda declined to disclose his educational background, stating that he would only do so once the ongoing investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations is completed and the court renders a verdict. As for his plans, he announced his goal of entering the political field in the forthcoming 2027 General Election and running for an elective seat. Additionally, he disclosed that he had received endorsements from prominent politicians such as former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and other leaders.
Mwenda is currently confronting charges that include identity theft and the fabrication of documents which were brought against him in a court hearing led by Nairobi Chief Magistrate Lukas Onyina. Despite the accusations, Mwenda entered a not-guilty plea and was allowed to pay Sh200,000 to be bailed out. The trial is scheduled to proceed on November 7.
