John Wanjohi Apr 01, 2023

Kisa East Ward Representative Stephen Maloba is dead.

Maloba was stabbed to death following a confrontation between his supporters and those of Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka, according to Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula.

Savula made the announcement during Farouk Kibet’s thanksgiving ceremony in Malava, Kakamega on Saturday.

“An MCA has just passed away in Khwisero Constituency. He was stabbed after a confrontation ensued between two camps, his and that of an MP," Savula said.

Confirming the incident, Khwisero OCPD Samuel Kogo said investigations into the matter are underway and authorities will release more information later

Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale claimed the MCA was killed due to political differences.

"I was in a good mood, but that news ruined it. The young man they killed was in my house for breakfast the other day. He was to vie on UDA, but he joined KANU and won. They have killed him. I am going to console them and not cause more chaos," Khalwale said at the thanksgiving ceremony.

It is not clear what caused the alleged altercation leading to Maloba’s stabbing.
