Uhuru’s Cousin Kung’u Muigai Lands a Gov’t Job

Former president Uhuru Kenyatta's cousin Kung’u Muigai has landed a government job.

Muigai, who serves as the patron of the Kikuyu Council of Elders, is among individuals appointed to various State corporations by President Ruto and Cabinet Secretaries.

Through a gazette notice dated January 20th, Youth, Sports and Arts CS Ababu Namwamba named Muigai the Chairperson of the Board of the Kenya Cultural Centre Council for a period of two years.

President Ruto appointed Patrick Gichuru as the Chairperson of the Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority for a period of three years, and Stephene Kiptoem as the head of the Board of Directors of NACADA for a period of three years. 

The president also named Irene Muthoni as the non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Financial Inclusion Fund (Hustler Fund) for a period of three years and Hannah Waitherero Muriithi as the Chairperson of the Kenya Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) for a similar period.

Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung'u appointed Melissa Ngania, Anne Lengerded, James Akali and Joseph Ng'etich to the KDIC Board.

Trade CS Moses Kuria appointed Jeremiah Kinyua as the Chairperson of the National Standards Council while Co-operatives CS Simon Chelgui appointed Lawrence Chelimo, Paul Ndore and Hardlyne Lusui as members of the Financial Inclusion Fund.
