Rachel Ruto: Ruto will Tirelessly Give to the Church Until He is Left with Nothing

John Wanjohi Mar 25, 2022

Deputy President William Ruto’s wife Rachel Ruto has backed her husband to continue donating money to churches and the needy.

While dismissing critics who accused the deputy president of dishing out ‘dirty money’, Rachel stated that nothing will stop her husband from giving generously to those who need support.

“Please don’t bother yourself because my husband is giving donations. He will give, give, give, give and give until the day he runs out of money,” said Rachel.

Speaking at a women’s function in Emali, Makueni County on Thursday, Rachel noted that Ruto did not start giving out cash donations recently, adding that he will do more for Kenyans if elected president.

“The Bible teaches that it is the hand that gives that receives. I know the DP, he has the interests of Kenyans at heart. I know when God accedes to the desire of his heart he will do more for Kenyans,” she added.

She also took the opportunity to drum up support for Ruto, who is eyeing the presidency on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket under the Kenya Kwanza alliance.

“The party to vote for is UDA. If God makes him (Ruto) president, he will do a lot of good things for Kenyans. Do we need any other person to govern Kenya besides William Ruto?” she posed.

Ruto, 55, has previously faced criticism from President Kenyatta as well as his rival Raila Odinga over numerous cash donations to churches, women groups, and youth.

Speaking during a meeting at Sagana State Lodge last month, Kenyatta accused some church leaders of being compromised by huge cash donations by corrupt leaders.

The president claimed that some of the money donated to churches was meant for the construction of the Arror and Kimwarer multi-purpose dams in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
