Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Friday evening hosted President Kenyatta for dinner at his residence in Karen, Nairobi.

The two, who were joined by KANU Chairman and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, held lengthy political talks during the meeting.

Reports indicate that the discussions between the three leaders centered around the current political situation in the country and the August 9th general elections.

They also affirmed their full commitment and support for ODM leader Raila Odinga, who is the presidential flagbearer for the Azimio-One Kenya coalition.

“It was my absolute pleasure and joy to host my Brothers the President of the Republic of Kenya H.E Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and my fellow OKA Principal Baringo Senator Gideon Moi at my Nairobi residence yesterday evening. We are Azimio-One Kenya and we will fully support the candidature of Right Honourable Raila Amolo Odinga for the presidency in the forthcoming August General Election,” Musyoka wrote on Facebook on Saturday.

The meeting lasted for more than five hours and has great political and personal significance to both President Kenyatta and Kalonzo, according to a statement to newsrooms.

The visit, the statement said, was aimed at cementing a close-bond since the dawn of the 2018 handshake between Kenyatta and Odinga.

“We are forging a broad-based coalition that will leave no one behind in its quest to build a united and prosperous nation,” Senator Moi wrote.

The meeting comes a week after ODM, Jubilee, Wiper, Kanu and over 20 other political parties signed a pact under the Azimio-One Kenya grand coalition and endorsed Odinga as their presidential candidate.
