Senator Murkomen Sets Record Straight After Reports of Ditching Ruto's Camp

John Wanjohi Oct 07, 2021

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has rubbished reports that he has ditched Deputy President William Ruto’s camp.

Through Twitter on Thursday, Murkomen said he had previously been unable to respond to the rumors because he has been out of the country.

The senator indicated that he just returned from the United States where he held meetings with Congressmen to discuss matters of mutual interest between the two countries.

Murkomen termed the reports about him leaving Ruto’s camp as false, saying the rumors were being peddled by busybodies and propagandists.

“Just returned from the US Capitol where we held meetings with Congressmen on matters of mutual interest to our 2 countries. In my absence propagandists, bloggers, busybodies & all manner of nose parkers have been peddling rumors & writing silly notes in my name. Desperados. Ignore them,” wrote Murkomen, a staunch supporter and defender of Ruto.

The rumors were perhaps triggered by his silence and absence from the public in recent weeks, with some social media users claiming that he had fallen out with the deputy president.

Flamboyant lawyer Donald Kipkorir tweeted, “If my Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has left UDA, who are you to remain? By February 2022, my BFF Ahmednasir will be the only intellectual in UDA still abusing Raila Odinga, Kenya’s 5th President. He will be the only sane person amongst Fraudsters, Washwash Dealers & Illiterates.”
