Scores Feared Trapped as Five-Story Building Collapses in Gachie, Kiambu

Several workers are feared trapped after a residential building under construction collapsed in Gachie, Kiambu County on Monday afternoon.

Confirming the 3:00pm incident, Kiambu County Police Commander Ali Nuno said rescue mission is underway and no death has been reported so far.

Reports indicate the structure located along Muuru Road had been built up to the fifth floor and laborers were working on the sixth storey when it caved in.

Witnesses said some workers managed to escape the rubble with minor injuries. The exact number of people trapped in the debris is unknown.
