Uhuru Hosts Raila, Kalonzo, Mudavadi, Wetang'ula and Moi at State House, Mombasa

President Kenyatta has held a consultative meeting with a cross-section of political party leaders.

The meeting held at State House, Mombasa on Tuesday brought together partly leaders Raila Odinga (ODM), Kalonzo Musyoka (Wiper), Musalia Mudavadi (ANC), Moses Wetang’ula (Ford-Kenya), and Gideon Moi (Kanu). Also present was Kakamega Governor and ODM Deputy Party Leader Wycliffe Oparanya.

Several subjects touching on the State of the Nation were discussed during the session, according to State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena.

“Among the subjects discussed by the leaders were, Covid-19’s impact on the country and how to revamp the economy; and the importance of maintaining peace, unity and national cohesion,” said Dena in a statement.

The president later received visiting Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia Mohamed Hussein Roble and his delegation at the same venue.

Kenyatta and Roble are scheduled to hold bilateral talks during which subjects of mutual interest to Kenya and Somalia will be discussed.
