Top 2020 KCPE Candidate Faith Mumo Unable to Raise Sh120,000 to Join Form One
The family of 2020 KCPE top candidate Faith Kawee Mumo is appealing for financial aid to enable their daughter to join Form One.
Faith was the best performing candidate in last year’s KCPE exam after scoring 433 marks out of the possible 500.
Her parents are unable to raise the Sh120,000 required for her admission to Kenya High School and are appealing to well-wishers to come to their rescue.
They fear Faith, who sat for her KCSE exam at Kari Mwailu day and boarding primary school in Makueni County, may not join Form One on August 2nd if they fail to raise the school fees.
Faith’s father Paul Mumo lost his accountancy job last year following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic which pushed companies into laying off workers.
Mumo ventured into small-scale horticulture farming after losing his job and the family largely depends on the little money his wife earns from her tailoring shop.
Faith, who has three siblings, one in Form Two, one in Class 8, and the lastborn in Grade 4, dreams of becoming a neurosurgeon.
Corporates and well-known personalities had pledged to help pay the girl's fees but only former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru honored her pledge and sent a Sh26,000 cheque.
