Two police officers sustained injuries after shooting each other in a fight over a woman at a popular club in Nairobi.

The Friday night shooting incident at Quiver Lounge on Thika Road involved police constables Festus Musyoka Kavuthi, who is attached to Starehe DCI, and Lawrence Muturi from Kasarani Petty Crime Unit.

Musyoka reportedly arrived at the entertainment joint at around 9:30 pm in the company of a lady named Felistas Nzisa. Constable Muturi had checked in earlier and was enjoying a drink at the club when he spotted Musyoka and Nzisa.

He immediately confronted Musyoka seeking to know what he was doing with Nzisa, who he claimed to be his girlfriend. An irked Musyoka drew out his firearm and shot Muturi in the hand.

In retaliation, Muturi also whipped out his pistol and shot Musyoka in the left part of his neck, and accidentally shot Nzisa on the abdomen.

“PC Musyoka and the lady were rushed to Nehema Uhai Hospital for first-aid then later PC Musyoka transferred to Nairobi hospital for further treatment. PC Muturi took himself to Radiant hospital in Pangani where he was treated and released on fair condition,” reads a police report on the incident.

The firearms from the two officers were confiscated by Kasarani DCI for further action as investigations into the incident continue.
