Raila Odinga Admitted to Nairobi Hospital, Awaiting COVID-19 Results
The family of ODM party leader Raila Odinga has confirmed that he is currently admitted to the Nairobi Hospital.
His elder brother Oburu Odinga indicated that Raila complained of general fatigue and body aches, adding that there was no need for alarm.
Oburu added that the results of several medical tests carried out on his brother, including a COVID-19 test, are not yet out.
He played down claims that Raila had contracted COVID-19, stating that he is not showing any symptoms of respiratory disease.
“I was there with him last night, but the medical tests had not come back on COVID-19 but from what I observed, he did not have breathing complications or chest pains, just general fatigue and body aches,” Oburu told Citizen Digital on Wednesday.
He added: “Everyone falls sick, there is nothing to mourn about or be sad about because everyone falls sick, there is really nothing serious in Raila’s admission to hospital.”
His hospitalization comes days after he concluded a three-day tour of the Coast region, where he urged residents to rally behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
In June last year, Raila was flown to Dubai for minor back surgery to treat a nerve disorder that had been affecting one of his legs.
