Isaac Mwaura and Millicent Omanga Among 7 Senators Expelled from Jubilee Party

The Jubilee Party has expelled seven nominated senators on the grounds of “disciplinary violations.”

Jubilee secretary-general Raphael Tuju said the decision to expel the senators was made by the party’s National Management Committee (NMC) following a meeting on Monday to deliberate on a report submitted by the disciplinary committee.

“The NMC in exercising its mandate provided or under article 7 (2a) of the party’s constitution and relying on other enabling provisions of the party law has expelled the following senators,” Tuju said in a statement on Monday.

Those expelled include nominated senators Isaac Mwaura, Seneta Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Omanga Millicent, Prengei Victor, Iman Dekow, and Gona Christine Zawadi.

Six of the aforementioned senators appeared before the ruling party’s disciplinary committee last year on the grounds of disciplinary matters as per article 13 of the party’s constitution while Senator Mwaura was summoned last week.

“The expulsions are with immediate effect and have been communicated to the Senate and the registrar of political parties,” Tuju said.

He added: “The affected senators are at liberty to exercise their right of appeal.”

All the affected Senators are allied to Deputy President William Ruto.
