Kalonzo Chides Ruto for Inciting the Poor Against the Rich
Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka has continued with his onslaught on Deputy President William Ruto over his hustler campaign.
Kalonzo claimed that Ruto has adopted the Marxist theory to drive a wedge between the rich and the poor, with a view of creating a class war in the country.
He further accused the deputy president of undermining President Uhuru by portraying him as a failure yet they were elected on the same ticket in 2013 and 2017.
“As a former Vice President, the actions by Ruto of bringing the wheelbarrow narrative amounts to sabotage, and President Uhuru has been very patient to act,” he remarked.
He termed Ruto’s wheelbarrow narrative as a mockery to the conscience of the nation, given that the Jubilee administration promised a digital era in the country by providing laptops to school children.
Kalonzo, who spoke in Kitui on Sunday, said the incitement by Ruto must stop.
On Saturday, Ruto defended the hustler campaign, insisting that he is only championing the cause of a majority of Kenyans, who are struggling to make ends meet.
“People are saying the Deputy President is inciting Kenyans against each other. That he is inciting the poor. But let me tell you, I am not stupid to an extent that I can incite Kenyans,” Ruto stated.
“When I say let’s empower the bodaboda rider and the mama mboga, by giving them government money to expand their businesses, how does that amount to incitement?”
“They think they will drive their agenda like they have done for many years. But I am telling them they should be prepared. The next government will be formed by touts, the bodaboda riders, and the mama mbogas,” Ruto added.
