Pastor Arrested for Raping and Impregnating 14-Year-Old Girl Who Went to Church for Prayers

Police in Migori county have arrested a pastor accused of defiling and impregnating a 14-year-old girl.

The man of the cloth is said to have sexually abused the minor, who is a Class Eight pupil at Muslim Primary School in Migori, two months ago.

The girl remained silent about the incident until a week ago when she wrote a suicide note blaming her parents for the ordeal, according to Nyatike Sub-County Children’s Officer Joyce Atieno.

The victim, who has since undergone counseling, said she had visited the pastor’s church for prayers when the clergyman committed the heinous act. She blamed her parents for insisting she goes to the church for prayers.

 “…When this person came to our home he told my mother that he wants me to go for prayer. I refused to go alone and I decided to go with my friend. When I reached there, he told us to go with him to the church for prayer at 9.00 pm. There was no one at the church, only the three of us,” part of her suicide note reads.

“When we reached there he told me to go with him to a room for the sick for prayer. After that I don’t know what happened when my mind came back, I was tired and could not walk properly but when I asked him what happened, he told me that he had just removed things which were disturbing in my stomach. I only saw blood and some white things coming from me.”

The ‘man of God’ is currently in police custody pending arraignment to face rape charges.
