John Wanjohi Aug 29, 2020

A man accused of conning unsuspecting Kenyans of millions of shillings has been arrested.

Paul Mwangi Warutere was fished out of his hideout in Ngong by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday.

Warutere is said to have swindled his victims by duping them into funding a non-existent container supply contract at Word Health Organization (WHO).

In the con scheme executed between July and August this year, Warutere allegedly received up to Sh16.9 million from his victims, according to the DCI.

The suspect has other pending cases in court, one of which he was charged at Milimani law courts for allegedly defrauding another victim of Sh13.7million.

Warutere is presently in police custody awaiting arraignment in court on Monday.
