11 US Nationals Among 456 Foreigners Infected with Covid-19 in Kenya
A total of 456 foreign nationals have so far tested positive for Covid-19 in Kenya.
This accounts for 2.6 percent of the total 17,603 positive cases confirmed in the country as of Sunday, July 26th.
A majority of foreigners who have contracted the disease in Kenya are Somali citizens, according to a Health Ministry document seen by The Star.
The document shows that the number of Somali nationals infected with Covid-19 in the country stands at 96.
India is second with 59 nationals followed by China (47), the UK (37), Uganda (24), Tanzania (20), South Sudan (19) while Ecuador and Sri Lanka each have 12.
11 US nationals have contracted the virus in Kenya while France and Burundi each have 10 followed by Congo and Pakistan (8 each), South Africa and Ethiopia (7 each), Rwanda (6), and Canada, Bangladesh, and Nigeria with 5 each.
Others are Kuwait and Austria (4 each); Cameroon, Mexico, and Nepal (3 each); while Portugal, Mongolia, Italy, Ireland, German, Netherlands, Denmark have two each.
The following countries have one case each; Algeria, Brazil, Djibouti, Ecuador, Egypt, Guinea, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Malagasy, Malawi, Malaysia, Philippine, Romania, Saint Lucia, Togo, Turkey, and Ukraine.
