David Murathe Warns Jubilee MPs Against Snubbing Uhuru’s Monday Meeting
Jubilee vice-chairman David Murathe has sent a warning to MPs who are planning to snub a parliamentary group meeting convened by President Kenyatta on Monday.
Murathe through Facebook on Sunday warned that anyone who skips the meeting set to be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi will be punished.
“In the recent, we have witnessed a lot of disloyalty, insubordination, impunity, disobedience, and direct insults to our party leader. This must come to an end,” Murathe stated.
“Missing tomorrow’s PG meeting should not come to anyone’s mind. Disciplinary actions are crystal clear in the Jubilee Party Act to those who are deviating from the fundamental requirements of the party.”
An invitation sent to all Jubilee MPs said they are required to be at the venue by 9 am. The agenda of the meeting remains unclear but sources have intimated that Garissa Township MP Aden Duale could be stripped of his National Assembly Majority Leader post.
126 out of 179 Jubilee MPs are said to have signed a petition supporting Duale’s ouster. The petition was sent to President Kenyatta two weeks ago.
During a PG meeting at State House on June 2nd, Duale retained his position while Benjamin Washiali and Cecily Mbarire lost their Majority Whip and Deputy Majority Whip positions respectively.
Washiali was replaced by Navakholo MP Emmanuel Wangwe while Igembe North MP Maoka Maore took over from Mbarire.
