I Was Fired from State House for Refusing to Betray DP William Ruto, Dennis Itumbi Says

Blogger Dennis Itumbi claims that he was fired from State House over his firm allegiance to Deputy President William Ruto.

Until last month, Itumbi served as the director of Digital and Diaspora Communications at the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU).

Itumbi lost his job alongside Eric Ng’eno, James Mureithi, David Musau, and John Ndolo after their contracts at PSCU were terminated by the Public Service Commission (PSC).

“The contracts of the five are terminated in accordance with termination clauses to facilitate the payment of gratuities on a pro-rata basis,” PSC CEO Simon Rotich said in a letter last month.

Itumbi, through Facebook on Monday, claimed that his dismissal was linked to his refusal to betray DP Ruto. He alleged that declined to be part of a group tasked to craft a strategy meant to finish Ruto politically.

“A meeting was convened. The aim was to develop a strategy to stop William Ruto from becoming President in 2022,” Itumbi said without mentioning names.

He added: “A few people were told to develop ideas that would inform the strategy. Four points were adopted as the pillars that would drive out Ruto and completely finish him. That is the day I made my decision. I would not be part of the betrayal.”

Itumbi, who openly supports DP Ruto online, has in the recent past been criticizing President Uhuru’s administration.

He was last year arrested and charged over allegations of authoring a fake letter that claimed there was a plot to assassinate DP Ruto over his quest to succeed Uhuru in 2022.
