Nairobi MCA Redson Otieno Arrested over Heroine Seized at JKIA

Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Friday arrested a Nairobi Member of County Assembly (MCA) over drug trafficking allegations.

In a statement on Saturday, DCI said Ngei Ward MCA Redson Otieno Onyango was arrested in connection with a consignment of narcotics impounded at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on April 19th, this year.

The consignment allegedly contained a drug substance believed to be heroine. DCI said the Ward Representative will be paraded in court on Monday to face drug trafficking charges.

This month, politician Jaffer Isaak was arrested in Marsabit County while ferrying 445 kilograms of Bhang.

The former presidential aspirant was arrested with the illegal substance valued at about Sh13 million at a roadblock along Marsabit-Moyale highway.
