Huduma Namba Clerk Filmed Demanding Bribe to Register Kenyans [VIDEO]
Even as Kenyans rush to beat the May 25th deadline for Huduma Namba registration, it has emerged that some rogue clerks are demanding bribes to list people.
This comes after a video of a female clerk soliciting a bribe to register some citizens in the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS) emerged online.
In the viral recording, the woman wearing a pink top is heard telling people to part with Sh300 for them to be given the service that is supposed to be free of charge.
The footage has angered some Kenyans online who have asked Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i to take action against the clerk.
"So we must pay to get someone to steal our data later. Enyewe kila kitu ni hustle," @Tony tweets.
Long queues have been witnessed in most of the Huduma Namba registration centers across the country in the last few days as deadline approaches.
On Friday, President Uhuru announced that the deadline for registering for Huduma Namba has been pushed by one week to May 25th. This, he said, was to allow those who have been unable to register yet becuase of huge queues more time to do so.
