President Kenyatta is scheduled to deliver this year's State of the Nation Address on April 4th.

Kenyatta will deliver a speech on the state of the nation before a joint sitting of the National Assembly and Senate at the main chambers.

In a statement, Parliament says the address is in pursuant to Article 132(1)(b) of the Constitution which empowers the President to perform such a function.

Kenyatta's speech is expected to focus on the progress of the implementation of his Big Four Action Plan.

Under the plan, Kenyatta seeks to deliver on four key areas including food security, affordable housing, manufacturing, and universal healthcare.

He is also expected to give a brief on the renewed fight against corruption, the economy, devolution, and national unity.

The State of the Nation address is an annual constitutional requirement where the President outlines the progress made in the realization of the national values.
