Wife of the Late Legendary Kenyan Singer Joseph Kamaru Passes Away in Rongai

The wife of the late legendary Kenyan Benga musician Joseph Kamaru has passed away at the age of 78.

Susan Wangari Kamaru succumbed to a cardiac arrest on Saturday night, according to Daily Nation.

Her son Boniface Macharia says their mother died at her daughter’s home in Rongai, Kajiado County.

“She died on Saturday at around 10 pm, when she visited my sister in Rongai. Our mother has been ailing for three years and had been treated in various hospitals,” says Boniface.

Her death comes barely four months after her husband passed away while receiving treatment for breathing complications at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi.

Kamaru, who died at 79, was laid to rest at his home in Muthithi village, Murang’a County.

Ms. Kamaru will be buried next to her husband on Friday. She leaves behind four children.
