CS Monica Juma Discloses the Top Diplomatic Job DP Ruto's Daughter June Holds in Europe

John Wanjohi Feb 14, 2019

Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Ambassador Monica Juma has revealed the top diplomatic job Deputy President William Ruto's daughter, June holds.

In a post on social media, Ambassador Juma announced that she arrived in Warsaw, Poland and was received by June Ruto.

Ms. Juma says that June is Kenya's Chargee D’Affaires in Warsaw, Poland.

“Arrived in Warsaw this morning, was received by June Ruto, Chargee D’Affaires,” Juma says in a tweet.

CS Juma traveled to Poland to attend a summit on Middle East's security, which has kicked off on Thursday.

A Chargee D’Affaires (CDA) is a diplomat who heads an embassy in the absence of the ambassador.

The role is also created when two countries do not have full diplomatic missions. In this case, the CDA maintains diplomatic relations at a level below that of a formal Embassy.

This means June Ruto is the link between Kenya and Poland since Kenya doesn't have a fully-fledged embassy in the European nation.

June holds a postgraduate degree in International Studies from the University of Queensland, Australia, and a bachelor degree in Diplomacy from the United States International University (USIU) in Nairobi.

A CDA enjoys similar privileges and immunities given to heads of diplomatic missions.
