A Mombasa-based businessman who claims to be working for the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill his wife.

Samir Gulamabbas Baloo who claims to be an FBI agent is said to have drawn out a gun on his spouse on several occasions.

Samir has been arraigned before Mombasa Principal Magistrate Martin Rabera, where he has been charged with threatening to kill his wife, Noreen Kosar Gulam.

The prosecution says that Samir pointed a gun to his wife's head on diverse dates between June 6th and 26th, 2018 at their residence in Nyali Links in Mombasa without a lawful excuse.

The suspect, who has chosen to represent himself in the case has pleaded not guilty to the charges and has been freed on a bond of Sh100, 000.

Noreen’s father Mohaed Shahid Moughai claims that his son-in-law has been threatening to kill his daughter and other members of his family.

Moughai says Samir brags that he is untouchable since he works with the FBI and the US Drugs Enforcement Agency (DEA).

“He bragged to me how no one can touch him as he works with the FBI and DEA and said he kill people at free will and nobody can do anything to it,” says Moughai.

“He has a history of bad temper and abuse of drugs. I fear for my life because i have exposed him."

The case will be mentioned on January 15th, 2019.
