List of Top 20 Students Nationally in 2018 KCSE Examination

Juliet Irene Otieno from Pangani Girls has emerged as the top student in this year's Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination. 

Speaking when she released results of the 2018 exam in Nairobi, Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed says Ms. Otieno has scored an A (stand) of 87.644 points.

Karuna James of Maseno School is the second best student followed by Edwin Otieno Ouko (Light Academy), Kamweru Mwangi Duncan Ian (Moi High School, Kabarak) and Humphrey Rasugu (Maseno School).

Nel Christine of Alliance Girls High School is the sixth best student in the exam while Njenga Brian Ndung’u (Mang’u High School), Osogo Wesley (Alliance High School), Moraa Sharleen (Moi Girls School Nairobi) and Allan Ochieng (Maranda High School) close the top ten list.

Mathenge Kirigo (Moi High school Kabarak), Njoroge Anthony Maina (Mang’u High School), Whitney Mangwi (Kapsabet Boys), Alfred Ngei (Moi High Kabarak), Langat Angela Cherotich (Precious Blood Liruta), Ansiet Wamungu (Nakuru High School), Madlene Auma (Moi High School Kabarak), Steven Obure (Alliance High School),Ochieng Joshua (Maseno School), Gitau Mark (Light Academy) take positions 11 to 20 respectively.

The number of candidates who have attained an A in 2018 examination has increased to 315 from 142 recorded the previous year.

A total of 90,377 candidates have attained the minimum university entry grade of C+ (plus) down from 70,073 in last year's examination.
