John Wanjohi Dec 13, 2018

Grace Kanamu Namulo, the woman accused of stabbing to death former "Vioja Mahakamani" actor Jamal Nassul Gadafi was on Thursday arraigned at the Mavoko Law Courts.

Appearing before Mavoko Senior Principal Magistrate C Oluoch, Ms. Kanamu did not take plea as the prosecution requested for additional time to complete investigations into the actor's killing.

Magistrate Oluoch allowed police to detain the 40-year-old for five more days pending the completion of investigations.

She is accused of stabbing Gadafi to death using a kitchen knife after they allegedly quarreled while attending an evening party at the Arks Hotel in Mlolongo on Tuesday. She was arrested on Tuesday.

"It was reported that Jamal Nassul Gaddafi, 39, was having a party at Arks Hotel near 67 Airport Hotel on the night of December 11, 2018. There was a quarrel between him and his friend Grace Kanamu Namulo, 40. She picked a knife and stabbed him," the police report states.

Speaking to a local news outlet after her arrest, Ms. Kanamu said the 39-year-old accidentally fell on a knife during an argument between them.

"Gadafi accidentally fell on the kitchen knife when the argument we were having got heated. It’s not true that I killed him,” she said adding that she “stumbled upon Gadafi writhing in pain after he fell on a kitchen knife.”

Gaddafi was buried in Mombasa on Wednesday.
