29-Year-Old Woman Found Dead with Throat Slit in Her Kilimani Apartment Hours after Returning to Kenya
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating an incident where a Kenyan woman was brutally murdered at her apartment in Nairobi’s Kilimani estate.
The lifeless body of Monica Kimani was found by her brother George dumped in a bathtub inside her apartment located along Kitale Lane off Denis Pritt Rd. Her throat had been slit.
“….tulivunja mlango tukaingia, nilipata amekatwa shingo na ako dipped in a bathtub with her hands tied and the water was running,” George said.
The body of the 29-year-old businesswoman was found at around 1pm on Thursday. Circumstances around her death are still unclear.
Monica had just returned to the country from South Sudan where she runs a family business and had reportedly met two friends at her house that night.
“I came to check on her since my mother had called and she wasn’t picking. I sent her a message but she never replied yet we were to meet, since she was to travel to Dubai today (Friday) for a holiday,” the brother added.
Speaking to Citizen TV, Monica's father said she had purchased a house in Ruaka, but moved to the Kilimani apartment three months ago becuase she wanted to liver near the city.
“I could have paid to save her life if it was a possibility. What we are requesting for is to know her killers and why she was killed,” he said.
