We Regret Electing Ferdinand Waititu as Kiambu Governor, Senator Isaac Mwaura Says

John Wanjohi Aug 21, 2018

Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has slammed Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, accusing him of focusing on personal matters at the expense of county residents.

Mwaura says Kiambu residents made a mistake by electing Waititu as their Governor and are now regretting the decision.

The Senator accused Waititu of putting the main focus on several personal projects he is undertaking in Nairobi while Kiambu residents are struggling with numerous challenges such as lack of drugs in county health centres. Mwaura said he regrets backing Waititu for the seat and wished there was a way to undo the mistake.

"Governor Ferdinard Waititu honestly you are causing great embarrassment to our Kiambu County. We would do better with visionary leadership," Mwaura said.

He challenged Waititu to come out clean on the source of cash he is using to put up an expensive building in Nairobi central business district.

"Nakuambia Waititu...atuambie kama ile 2 million alisema anatumia kila siku ya pombe ndio anatumia kujengea nyumba Nairobi (I am telling you Waititu...tell us if the KSh 2 million you said you were spending daily to fight illicit brew is the money you are using to build a house in Nairobi)," the senator said.

"Why have an illegal construction? Kiambu hakuna madawa, hakuna kitanda na tunakuona unasema ati mito ziondolewe? (In Kiambu we do not have drugs nor beds in hospitals and we hear you saying the rivers should be moved). I want to say we made a very big mistake electing Waititu as governor."
