President Kenyatta Visits Retired President Moi at His Rural Home
President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday paid a courtesy call to retired President Daniel arap Moi at his residence in Kabarak, Nakuru County.
The President Moi while on his way to the funeral of the late Sarah Kasaon, the wife of former Kenya Defence Forces Vice Chief Lieutenant General Joseph Kasaon in Rongai.
The retired President's acting Press Secretary Alex Kiprotich said President Kenyatta visited Mzee Moi to wish him well as he continues to recuperate from knee surgery. Kenyatta was welcomed by Moi's son, Senator Gideon.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta today paid a courtesy call to Mzee Daniel arap Moi at his Kabarak home where he wished him well," Kiprotich said.
"His Excellency Mzee Moi lauded Uhuru's efforts towards knitting the country together. He thanked him for directing Kenya towards the path of unity," the official added.
