US-Based Scholar Makau Mutua Opens a Multi-Million Shilling Villa Hotel in Kenya
US-based Kenyan scholar Prof Makau Mutua has opened a multi-million shilling Villa Hotel in Kitui town.
The opening of the high-end Kitui Villa Hotel was graced by opposition leader Raila Odinga, his wife Ida, Wiper chief Kalonzo Musyoka and Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu among other leaders.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Raila urged Kenyans in the diaspora to invest back home. "Mama Ida Odinga and I were joined by wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka at the launch of Kitui Villa which is owned by Law professor Makau Mutua. I would like to appeal to Kenyans in the diaspora to invest in counties," Raila tweeted.
Kitui Villa Hotel will house a 10-bed capacity lodge, a restaurant, and a bar among other facilities.
Mutua, who lives in New York, is a former Dean of the University at Buffalo Law School.
