'Moha Jicho Pevu' Implicates Anne Waiguru, Mwangi Kiunjuri in Sh9 Billion NYS Scam in a New Dossier
Nyali MP Mohammed Ali alias 'Moha Jicho Pevu' has implicated Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and former Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Ndegwa Muhoro in the Sh9 billion scandal at the National Youth Service.
In a dossier tabled before Parliament on Tuesday, the first time MP also mentioned 10 other individuals who should be investigated over the scam at the youth agency.
"Evidence brought to my attention now points to the alleged involvement of other senior government officials, banks and business people whose names have been studiously avoided both by investigators and the media," he said while speaking in Parliament.
The former investigative journalist also named Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, businessman Ben Gethi, former NYS boss Nelson Githinji, NYS Deputy director Sam Muchuki, Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki and Police Inspector Julius Muia.
Others are; Petrol Kenya oil company limited co-directors Gor Semelango and Peter Gathecha, President Kenyatta's uncle.
"The evidence I have seen suggests that they have benefited from the payments that could be irregular or illegal," Ali said.
Police Inspector Julius Muia is said to have received Sh900,000 from the Ngirita family, whose companies are adversely mentioned in the NYS scandal. Ali further listed 40 companies suspected to have illegally received millions of shillings from the NYS.
At least 43 suspects have been charged in court in connection to the scandal and 113 accounts in 20 banks frozen. Among those who were charged is Youth Affairs Principal Secretary Lilian Omollo, National Youth Service Director-General Richard Ndubai and four members of the Ngirita family.
