Uhuru, Raila Unveil 14-Member Team to Spearhead Unity Initiative
President Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga have unveiled a 14-member team that will spearhead the process of uniting the country.
The team has been named nearly two months after the two shook hands outside Harambee House on March 9th and pledged to work together.
Dubbed Advisors for the Building Bridges Initiative, the team consists of political and religious leaders as well as renowned scholars in the country.
The 14 will now work under the stewardship of the secretariat chaired by Ambassador Martin Kimani from Uhuru's side and lawyer Paul Mwangi, representing Raila's side.
“It is notified for the general information of the public that President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have appointed a team of 14 advisors to assist in the work of the Building Brides Initiative,” reads a statement sent out to newsrooms by Dennis Onyango, Raila's spokesperson.
The 14 include; Dr Adams Oloo, Agnes Kavindu, Senator Amos Wako, Ms. Florence Omose, Professor Saeed Mwanguni, Mzee James Matundura, Major (rtd) John Seii and Bishop Lawi Imathiu.
Others are; Hon Maison Leshomo, Senator Mohamed Yusuf Haji, Morompi ole Ronkai, Bishop Peter Njenga, Rose Moseu and Zecheus Okoth.
