Orengo: Why President Uhuru Will Leave Office Before the End of His Term

John Wanjohi Feb 19, 2018

Siaya Senator James Orengo now says that President Kenyatta will be forced to leave office before the end of his term.

Speaking during the issuance of Gem CDF bursaries in Wagai, Siaya county on Monday, Orengo said that circumstances will force the president to relinquish power just like ex-South Africa president Jacob Zuma, who recently resigned after pressure from his party.

“The current situation in Kenya will force Uhuru to relinquish power prematurely,” he said.

The lawyer further noted that Nasa will not use force to eject President Kenyatta, but Raila will be crowned the President once Kenyatta resigns.

“Uhuru will surrender the presidency without bloodshed being involved. Raila will, thereafter, take up the reins of government,” he said.

“Jubilee leaders will be disappointed by that development, but unfortunately for them, that will be the case,” he added.

Speaking last week during a burial in Kilifi county, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka pointed out that the fall of former Presidents Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe and Zuma of South Africa as well as the recent resignation of Ethiopia Prime Minister Hailemarian Desalegn was a sign of impending change in Kenya’s leadership.

“You must have seen how President Robert Mugabe left office after clinging to power for far too long without loss of life and that is because the people of Zimbabwe felt it was time for change. In similar fashion Zuma left office. Kenya must also brace itself for change,” said Kalonzo.
