Rachael Shebesh, Ababu Namwamba among Election Losers Appointed to Cabinet

President Kenyatta has appointed a number of politicians who lost in the last election with cabinet positions.

Top on the list is former Nairobi Women Representative Rachael Shebesh and former Budalangi Member of Parliament Ababu Namwamba.

The two have been appointed to a newly created position in cabinet, known as the Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS), whose role will be to help Cabinet Secretaries with the daily running of affairs of the ministries.

Ababu will be the CAS in the Foreign Affairs Ministry, while Shebesh will oversee the administration in the Ministry of Public Service , Youth and Gender Affairs.

Former Meru governor Peter Munya has been appointed as the new Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry East Africa Cooperation and Northern Corridor Development, while ex-Marsabit Governor Ukur Yattani takes charge as CS for Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.

Former Turkana senator John Munyes will be in charge of Ministry of Mining and Petroleum.

Others appointed by President Kenyatta include former West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin, former Kisii senator Chris Obure and former Kisumu Central MP Ken Obura.
