President Uhuru is Ready for Dialogue, Jubilee Leaders Tell NASA

A section of Jubilee party leaders have urged National Super Alliance (Nasa) supremo Raila Odinga to call off the planned swearing-in ceremony set for January 30th, saying that President Uhuru is ready for dialogue.

Led by Deputy Senate Speaker and Senator Kithure Kindiki and Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi, the leaders warned the opposition oath plan could plunge the country into civil unrest.

“The swearing-in is untenable. The president is ready to dialogue with the opposition leaders. I am urging NASA to shelve its swearing in plans because they will plunge the country into uncertainty,” Kindiki said in Meru.

Speaking at the same event,Governor Kiraitu asked the opposition to abandon the plan and pursue their agenda through constitutional means. He stated that government will not allow the swearing in plan to happen.

"Don't be troubled. There is no swearing in that will take place come January 30th. So be calm. Don't be troubled," Murungi said.

Speaking during the launch of Lower Eastern People's Assembly forum in Machakos on Friday, Nasa leaders led by Raila said time for dialogue with President Kenyatta had lapsed and what remains now is taking oath of office at the end of the month.
