Embakasi East MP Babu Owino Accused of Assaulting Parking Attendant after CCTV Footage Goes Viral

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino is at the center of another 'controversy' barely days after promising to lead a drama-free life.

A new video footage that has gone viral on social media shows a group of men, alleged to be Owino and his bodyguards, assaulting a Nairobi County parking attendant after he demanded they pay parking fees.

The video clip, obtained from a CCTV footage at the Fortis Plaza in Westlands, Nairobi shows a number of men storming out of a SUV vehicle to treat the man to kicks and blows after he allegedly asked for parking fees from the driver of the car.

Most of online users claimed the leader of the group was Babu Owino, owing to his striking resemblance with the MP.

However, speaking to a local media station, the first time MP denied having being involved in such an incident and accused his rivals in Jubilee of being behind the "fake video".

“I was in Mombasa on January 11th. So, there is no way I would have assaulted a person who was miles away from where I was. I think my political rivals in the Jubilee are responsible for the falsehoods being peddled online. I strongly distance myself from that controversial video clip,” he said.
