Kalonzo's Message to Kenyans from Germany

John Wanjohi Dec 25, 2017

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has called on Kenyans to embrace unity and forgiveness despite the current political confusion the country finds itself in.

"My wish for you this festive season, is that the true revelation of Christ be made manifest in each one of you; embracing unity, forgiveness, brotherly concern and gratitude as we look towards an optimistic start to the New Year," the statement reads.

In a Christmas message sent from Germany on Sunday, Kalonzo urged Kenyans to remain strong, saying there is still hope for a better Kenya despite attempts by a few to subvert the will of the majority.

“Many are still weeping from the agony of the repercussions of the flawed 2017 General Elections. Millions of Kenyans had hoped that the expression of their will in exercise of their sovereign right to self-determination would have culminated in a fruitful electoral process, through the institutions which they mandated to be the custodians of democracy.”

He added: “But there is hope. Hope for a better Kenya. Hope for a united Kenya. A Kenya whose institutions and leadership facilitate the exercise of true democracy. A Kenya whose people will not allow corruption and self aggrandizement be part of its national values. A Kenya we can believe in, whose hope for a better tomorrow will no longer be dimmed.”

Kalonzo has been in Germany attending to his ailing wife, Pauline, for close to three months now. Details of her illness, however remain scanty.
