NASA MP Warns President Kenyatta against Re-appointing Matiang'i as Education CS

Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula has warned President Uhuru against naming Fred Matiang'i as Education Cabinet Secretary when he names his new Cabinet.

Savula said that, National Super Alliance (NASA)MPs will reject CS Fred Matiang'i if the President reappoints him to the position in his new team.

The opposition MP claimed that the CS had messed up the sector through hurried reforms and policies, stating that Matiang'i is unfit to head the crucial ministry.

"Matiangi is overplaying things in a way to make Kenyans think he is the best but he is a disaster. He should not head the education ministry."

Savula demanded the results in the recently released 2017 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations be recalled for what he termed as errors in marking, leading to mass failure by candidates.

"There has been an unnecessary rush by the CS on exams and other reforms. These are messing up the lives of our children," Savula said
"We can't agree with plans which are not well-thought. The running of a primary school is far much different from the secondary schools and that proposal in bound to cause chaos," he said on Sunday.
