NASA Invites Guests to Raila's Swearing-in Ceremony

National Super Alliance (NASA) has started sending out invitations to various guests to attend Raila's swearing in ceremony slated for December 12th.

Digital invitation cards seen by the Standard Newspaper reads: “You are invited. Come witness the swearing-in of the peoples’ president Raila Amollo Odinga on 12th December at 12 noon. Location to be communicated after vetting of RSVP."

On Tuesday, Odinga said that he will take Oath of Office on Jamhuri Day after endorsement from the people's assembly, which will hold a joint session on that day.

“Uhuru Kenyatta is not the president of Kenya. We do not recognise the October 28 election, that was a fake election. 83% of the population boycotted the election,” he said.

“Nyinyi mnajua Raila Odinga si muoga… Hapa Uganda, Besigye aliapishwa kama Rais, wiki jana kule Zimbabwe Mnangagwa aliapisha. Basi, tutaapisha, hatutaki kuapisha kama Besigye, tutaapisha kama Mnangagwa ambaye aliapishwa na akaingia Ikulu,” he added.

“I will be sworn in as President of Kenya on Jamhuri Day (December 12) through the people’s assembly, and go to State House. We will meet to discuss the matter and direct on the way forward,” Raila said hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s inauguration for a second term.

Nasa said both local and international dignitaries have been invited to the installation, but did not disclose their identities.

"We have begun sending out invitations to both local and international guests," Suna East MP Junet Mohammed said in an interview with Citizen TV.

On Friday, Nasa unveiled a seven-member committee to steer the coalition's people's assembly. Economics strategist David Ndii will head the team with other members being former nominated Senator Judy Sijeny, Oduor Ong'wen, Dr Mutahi Kangu, Peter Mathuki, Hamida Kibwana and Koitamet Olekina.

“The work of the organising committee will be to guide, facilitate and coordinate the programme of various assemblies across the country,” said former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale, who read the statement on behalf of the NASA leadership at Okoa Kenya office in Nairobi.

“It will further set up a national secretariat that will be the centre for the activities of these assemblies, among other duties.”
