Raila Launches "Third Republic"
National Super Alliance (NASA) chief Raila Odinga has told his supporters that he is launching a “third republic” and will explain later what that means.
Addressing supporters at Upper Hill on Friday after his return to the country from the US, Raila, who was flanked by former Senators Bonnie Khalwale (Kakamega), Johnston Muthama (Machakos) and Siaya senator James Orengo, said third liberation is unstopped.
"Today is the day we are launching Kenya as a third republic. I will explain it later. What you have seen is a signal that a third liberation is coming soon. Canaan is near. Bye to Uhuru."
He added: "Jubilee is out to frustrate us and now they are denying us the opportunity to engage our supporters but all these shall come to a halt soon. Nothing will stop us, we are no longer traveling to Canaan, the destination is actually now in sight,'' said Raila.
He expressed disappointment with how President Uhuru welcomed him on his arrival from the US, noting that he expected more from him.
"I can see a new beginning. It is time for the third liberation and this will very soon be marked by the fall of Jubilee,'' said Odinga.
"Today I am very angry. My anger is to this young man called Uhuru Kenyatta and his (William) Ruto. I went abroad and I have now returned. Uhuru knew where I was, didn't he? And I came with good news to you as Kenyans.. instead of welcoming me humbly, he sends police to hurl tear gas canisters at me, to beat my people, to shoot at my supporters. This is inhumanity!" said Raila as he addressed supporters on Friday evening.
