NASA Senator On How Raila Will be Sworn-in as President
A National Super Alliance (NASA) senator has revealed how the coalition plans to swear-in their leader Raila Odinga as the fifth President of Kenya.
Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala said that Nasa will use the recently controversial amendments on election laws passed by Jubilee party MPs in Parliament to install the opposition leader as the head of state.
The senator said that Jubilee shot itself in the foot by amending electoral laws to allow any judge to swear-in the President.
“We shall keep this rogue government on its toes. I assure you that what Jubilee lawyers are advising the government is complete nonsense. They will be surprised because it looks like they have forgotten what their MPs recently passed in Parliament in our absence.
He added: "They allowed any judge to swear in the President and we may be forced to remind them the same at the right time,” he conveyed.
"Kenyatta’s legitimacy remains questionable since he went to polls alone and ran against himself."
“The Jubilee government’s actions are dangerous to any leadership. I am cautioning them that what they are doing out of anger would cost them dearly,” he added.
NASA leaders have been threatening to swear-in Raila should President Uhuru go ahead to take Oath of Office for his second term. Led by Siaya Senator James Orengo, the NASA leaders have vowed not to recognize Uhuru as president.
"We will shock them. They will know that you can have power and the guns, but you cannot rule over a people that have refused to obey your leadership. We will use August 8th results to swear-in NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga if Jubilee tries to use October 26th poll results to swear-in Uhuru,” Orengo stated.
