Driver Attached to Kenya Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu Shot in Nairobi
A driver attached to Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu has sustained serious gun wounds after he was shot by an unknown gunman along Ngong Road in Nairobi.
Confirming the incident, Nairobi Police commander Japheth Koome said the Police Constable Titus Mutiso was shot near Marsabit Plaza where he had gone to purchase some flowers for the DCJ.
“We have launched an investigation and we are looking for the criminals who shot the DCJ’s driver,” Koome told Capital FM News.
Reports by police indicate that Mutiso was attacked by a man who snatched his pistol loaded with 15 bullets and fled on a motorbike.
“It happened so fast, the guy just jumped off the motorbike and sprayed him with bullets,” another police officer said, quoting a witness. He was rushed to Nairobi Women’s Hospital for treatment.
Police have launched investigations into the incident.
