Nyamira Governor John Nyangarama Says Government Has Withdrawn His Security

Nyamira county governor John Nyagarama claims that his security details have been withdrawn by the government.

The county boss said that no explanation was offered upon the withdrawal of his bodyguards.

Nyagarama claimed that the withdrawal is connected to his refusal to join Jubilee and the continued support for opposition National Super Alliance (NASA).

He added that the withdrawal of his security he not stop him from discharging his duties as the county’s Governor.

"I have learnt that the government has recalled all the security officers attached to offer protection to me and my family as the duly elected Governor of Nyamira County,".

" No explanation has been given for the sudden withdrawal. I am not bitter over the move and with or without security, I will continue to discharge my duties as the duly elected Governor of Nyamira county," Nyagarama said.

This comes a week after security details to NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka were withdrawn.

The governor earlier told off Jubilee from Nyamira county, saying that his residents will vote for the opposition leader.

"We are ready to mobilise votes for Raila, vote for him and protect his votes," he said.
